Monnegre
Monnegre is a unique town located in the north of the municipality of Alicante. This enclave, which forms part of the old Alicante orchard, is characterised by its slopes, ravines and orchards, as well as by old farmhouses and numerous historical hydraulic infrastructures, such as the remains of the Roman aqueduct that carried water from Tibi to Alicante.
Canteras de Arcilla de Agost
Agost is a town in Alicante known for its historic pottery tradition, based on the white clay quarries that surround it. These clays, extracted since ancient times, have been essential for the production of unique ceramic pieces, such as botijos and jugs. The geological wealth of the area has not only promoted local crafts, but has also made Agost a cultural and tourist reference in the province of Alicante.
P.N. Salinas Santa Pola
The Salinas de Santa Pola is a protected natural area in Spain located in the municipality of Santa Pola, which is part of the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community.
P.N. Lagunas La Mata y Torrevieja
The Park is made up of two main lagoons: La Mata and Torrevieja, separated by a strip of land known as "El Chaparral". The Torrevieja lagoon is especially notable for the characteristic pink colour of its waters. It has marked hiking and cycling routes, allowing visitors to explore its landscapes and observe the local fauna.
Embalse de La Pedrera
It is located in the municipality of Orihuela. It is 61 metres high and 716 metres long and plays a crucial role in the regulation and distribution of water from the Tajo-Segura Transfer. In addition to its hydraulic function, the La Pedrera Reservoir has become a tourist attraction due to the striking turquoise colour of its waters and the natural environment that surrounds it.
Vía verde del Río Segura
Natural corridor that follows the course of the Segura River, offering cyclists and hikers a route that connects various towns in the province of Alicante. The route covers approximately 10 kilometres, crossing traditional orchard areas and river groves.
El Cabezo de la Sal, Pinoso
Cabezo de la Sal, located in Pinoso, is a unique geological formation known as a Triassic diapir. It originated approximately 250 million years ago, when saline materials rose through the upper layers of the Earth's crust, creating a mountain of rock salt, anhydrite, gypsum and clays. With an altitude of 893 meters, it stands out for its rounded shape and reddish colors, becoming an icon of the local landscape.
Vía verde La Chicharra
The Chicharra Green Route is a route that takes advantage of the old narrow-gauge railway line known as "El Chicharra". Historical heritage: Along the route, you can see vestiges of the old railway, such as stations, bridges and tunnels, which evoke the railway history of the region. Natural environment: The green route crosses landscapes characteristic of the Alicante interior.
Sierra de El Carche
The Sierra del Carche, located in the Region of Murcia, is a natural area, declared a Regional Park in 2003, covering approximately 5,942 hectares and forming part of the Prebetic system. Its highest point is Pico de la Madama, which reaches 1,372 metres above sea level, making it one of the highest peaks in the region. The Cabezo de la Rosa salt diapir stands out, a geological structure of great interest.
Sierra de Enguera, Pico Caroche y la Muela de Cortes
The region that includes the Sierra de Enguera, Pico Caroche and Muela de Cortes, located in the Valencian Community, offers a landscape and ecological diversity of great interest.
Sierra de Tous
The Tous Reservoir, located in the province of Valencia, is surrounded by a series of mountain formations that contribute to its unique landscape. To the north and east of the reservoir are the Tous, Murta and Umbria mountain ranges. These mountain ranges not only add scenic value to the surroundings of the Tous Reservoir, but also play a crucial role in the conservation of biodiversity and in regulating the microclimate of the region.
